Volcán Arenal (Arenal Volcano) is about 25 kilometers as the parrot files from the Finca Leola tropical tree plantation, far enough to be safe if it ever decides to get a lot more active, but close enough to benefit from the volcanic top soil, which is giving us superior growth rates.

The first four photos below were taken from the plantation. The others are from closer vantage points like the town of La Fortuna, the outskirts of Ciudad Quesada, and the roads in between.
